Simon Lake Cannabis Store, located in Simon Lake, AB is a community-focused retail cannabis store

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Retail Manager to lead our Simon Lake Cannabis store. The
ideal candidate will drive sales growth, manage daily operations, empower the retail team, and ensure
consistency with regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Retail Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Simon Lake Cannabis
store. While performing all duties associated with the role, the successful candidate will:
Lead day-to-day retail store operations, ensuring a clean, safe, secure, and welcoming environment for
customers and staff at all times.
Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate store operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and full
compliance with provincial cannabis regulations and company policies.
Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, increase customer
engagement, and support product launches, while adhering to cannabis advertising and promotion
regulations.
Drive sales performance, analyze KPIs and metrics, and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales
and operational targets.
Prepare, manage, and monitor store budgets, track revenues and expenditures, and take corrective action
as required to meet financial objectives.
Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and daily financial reporting, ensuring accountability and
loss prevention.
Prepare and review monthly financial, sales achievement, and out-of-stock reports, using insights to
improve inventory planning and business performance.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storage, tracking, reconciliation, and loss
prevention of cannabis and ancillary products.
Coordinate with licensed vendors and suppliers, placing orders based on demand forecasting, sales
trends, and inventory levels.
Ensure proper product display, merchandising, pricing, and tagging, in compliance with cannabis retail
standards and brand guidelines.
Deliver exceptional customer service and product expertise, promptly addressing customer requests,
resolving complaints, and continuously improving the customer experience.
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop a high-performing retail team, fostering engagement,
accountability, and professional growth.
Oversee and supervise retail staff, including cashiers and floor staff, ensuring appropriate scheduling,
performance management, and workplace discipline.
Promote a positive workplace culture, ensuring store guidelines are followed at all times, including
respect for others, teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards, including implementing and enforcing
safety protocols for staff and customers.
Represent the brand professionally in the community, building positive relationships and upholding the
company’s reputation.
Qualifications
High School Diploma OR Graduate Certificate
Minimum 2–3 years’ retail management experience
Strong leadership and team development skills
Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Proven ability to drive sales and manage KPIs and manage live POS system
Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Available to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
Requirements
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required provincial cannabis certifications, including SellSafe
(or provincial equivalent), as required by Alberta cannabis retail regulations.
Minimum 2–3 years of retail management experience.
Demonstrated experience managing staff, inventory, cash handling, and daily retail operations.
Strong working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn and apply, Alberta cannabis retail regulations,
including age verification, product handling, and restricted sales practices.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Physically able to perform retail duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting inventory as
required.
