Shellfish Labourer

Bup Vo (Bach Dang II Crab Fishing) in Surrey, British Columbia is looking for two (2) Shellfish Labourers on a seasonal 9-month contract.
Job Duties:
· Prepare ice baskets to pour into Crab tanks when the fishing boats arrive at the dock.
· Lift the crab baskets out of the fishing boat after fishermen put crabs into the baskets.
· Select crabs based on size, full-meat quality. Make sure no female, undersized and dead crabs.
· Pour seawater into larger baskets and put selected crabs inside.
· Drain out the seawater, scale the baskets
· Make sure the crabs are alive, tight rubber bands to keep the big claws in place.
· Clean working areas.
Requirements:
· Secondary school may be required
· No experience needed as on the job training will be provided
· Physical demanding, handle heavy loads weight up to 50lbs (23 kgs)
· Repetitive tasks
· Flexible work hours and early morning are required within full-time 40 hours per week
