Vancouver Island Sustainable Food Group Ltd DBA Gabriel's Cafe is seeking 1 Full-time Restaurant Assistant Manager at 39 Commercial St, Nanaimo,British Columbia V9R 5G3.(Even though this position is full time position, we encourage part time job seekers to apply as well.) Salary is 39 dollars per hour and no. of hours are 35 per week.
Main Duties:
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant
Recruit staff and oversee staff training
Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant’s profits
Evaluate daily operations
Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
Supervise staff
Train staff
Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
Conduct performance reviews
Organize and maintain inventory
Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
Participate in marketing plans and implementation
Address customers' complaints or concerns
Manage kitchen operations
Perform same duties as workers supervised
Employment requirements:
Completion of secondary school. Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required. At least 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.
