We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced home care worker to provide one-on-one care for a senior living with Alzheimer's disease. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting individuals with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia and will be patient, attentive, and committed to providing respectful, person-centred care.
Responsibilities
Provide bedside and personal care in a safe, respectful, and compassionate manner.
Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other personal hygiene needs.
Support mobility and encourage regular exercise, such as daily walks.
Assist with feeding and meal preparation, ensuring nutritious meals are prepared and served.
Cook meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
Accompany the client to medical appointments and assist with transportation and communication, as needed.
Provide companionship and meaningful engagement throughout the day.
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
Launder clothing and household linens.
Shop for groceries and household supplies as needed.
Observe and report any changes in the client's physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
Requirements
Previous experience caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or dementia is required.
Experience providing personal care in a home setting.
Patient, compassionate, dependable, and respectful.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain client dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
First Aid/CPR certification and PSW certification are considered assets.
