Job Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Interpret welding process specifications and work orders.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment to weld metal components.
Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding, as required.
Fabricate, repair, and modify truck and trailer frames, bodies, structural components, and other metal products.
Operate flame-cutting, plasma-cutting, and oxygen arc cutting equipment.
Use brakes, shears, grinders, and other metal-forming equipment.
Determine the weldability of materials and select appropriate welding techniques.
Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with company quality standards and applicable codes.
Perform brazing and soldering when required.
Maintain welding equipment and perform minor repairs and routine maintenance.
Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Work collaboratively with mechanics and other shop personnel to complete repair projects efficiently.
Employment Requirements
Completion of secondary school.
Minimum of one (1) year to less than two (2) years of welding experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
Knowledge of welding processes, metal fabrication, and cutting equipment.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
English language proficiency.
