Job Description
A private family in Victoria, British Columbia is seeking a reliable, caring, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to provide full-time care for young children in the employer's home.
The successful candidate will provide attentive childcare while maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that supports the children's physical, emotional, and social development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and care for infants and children in the employer's home
Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
Sterilize bottles and prepare infant formulas
Change diapers and assist with toilet training according to parents' instructions
Prepare children for naps and rest periods
Maintain a safe and healthy home environment
Organize age-appropriate games, educational activities, and outings
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Tend to the emotional well-being of the children
Take children to and from school, appointments, and activities as required
Perform light housekeeping duties related to childcare
Cook family meals as required
Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents' absence
Travel with the family on occasion and assist with childcare during family trips
Requirements
Secondary school graduation certificate
Minimum one (1) year of childcare experience
Valid First Aid Certificate
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Ability to work independently in a private household
Dependable, organized, patient, and attentive to children's needs
Work Setting
Employer's private residence
On-site position (remote work not available)
