Specific Skills:
· Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, specifications, and work orders to determine fabrication and repair requirements.
· Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment using MIG, TIG, flux-cored, and stick welding processes.
· Perform precision welding, fitting, fabrication, and repair of truck, trailer, structural, and heavy-duty metal components.
· Operate flame-cutting, brazing, soldering, shearing, braking, bending, and metal-straightening equipment.
· Inspect welds for defects, distortion, alignment, and structural integrity and perform corrective repairs as required.
· Diagnose damaged or worn metal components and determine appropriate welding and fabrication methods for repairs.
· Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain welding machines, cutting equipment, tools, and related equipment.
· Measure, mark, fit, align, and tack metal components according to required dimensions and tolerances.
· Perform complex multi-pass welds on various metals and in different welding positions.
· Follow applicable welding procedures, safety standards, and quality-control requirements while working independently on complex assignments.

Basic security clearance would be required.
For safety purposes. safety equipment like protective clothing, eye protection, safety shoes, hoods etc. should always be worn at the work site.
