Habaneros Modern Taco Bar Ltd., operating as Habaneros Modern Taco Bar, is looking for an experienced Chef for its restaurant located at 600 Windmill Rd, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1B5, Canada. The successful candidate may be required to work at various locations across the Halifax Region.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and cook complete meals and speciality menu items, including tacos, burritos, salads, meats, sauces and salsas.
Follow recipes and standards for flavour, portioning, presentation and customer orders.
Coordinate daily food preparation and cooking during regular and peak service periods.
Create, test and maintain standardised recipes, and assist with new or seasonal menu items.
Supervise, train and guide cooks and kitchen staff in food preparation and service standards.
Accommodate dietary requests and follow procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
Monitor food quality, temperatures, labelling, storage and first-in, first-out rotation.
Manage inventory, estimate food requirements, place orders and help control waste and food costs.
Inspect kitchen and food-service areas to maintain health, safety and sanitation standards.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $19.00 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent
Benefits: 4% vacation pay
