Retail Store Supervisor
Gillies Bay General Store
Location: Gillies Bay, Texada Island, BC.
Employment: Permanent, 30-40 hours per week.
Wage: $25 per hour
Gillies Bay General Store, located at 5150 Gillies Bay Road, Gillies Bay, British Columbia, V0N 1W0, is more than just a retail store—we are an important part of the community, serving the everyday needs of residents of Gillies Bay and the surrounding area.
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Retail Store Supervisor who is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of store employees.
· Assign duties and prepare staff work schedules.
· Train and support new and existing employees.
· Provide friendly and professional customer service.
· Operate the cash register and assist with opening and closing procedures.
· Receive deliveries, monitor inventory, and restock merchandise.
· Maintain attractive and properly priced merchandise displays.
· Balance cash registers and prepare daily sales reports.
· Resolve customer concerns and authorize returns or exchanges.
· Ensure the store is clean, organized, safe, and properly stocked.
· Support food-service, lottery, liquor, and propane operations.
· Perform other retail and supervisory duties as required.
Requirements
· Previous retail, customer-service, or supervisory experience is preferred.
· Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
· A valid driver’s licence.
· Ability and willingness to obtain the following certifications:
o FOODSAFE certification
o Serving It Right certification
o Lottery retailer certification
o Propane dispensing certification
